There is something that I’ve been thinking the last several months. It’s kinda been in my head like the constant ringing of tinnitus – always there, sometimes louder than others but ever present.
I worry that we might be at the end of times. Not strictly in the biblical sense, but in the sense that there are so many problems and dangers in the world. Is it possible that one event could trigger a nuclear war that would mark the beginning of the end of our civilization?
I don’t say this lightly. But I believe that our world is at an inflexion point.
I’m not the only one thinking this. A couple of weeks ago a bartender and I were watching coverage of the slaughter of the Israeli people by Hamas. Unprompted, he said that he thinks we’re near the end of times. Last Sunday at the VFW I was watching football and the gent I was sitting next to said the same thing while we were talking about troubles in the world.
Are you thinking the same thing? I do believe that the thought may have crossed your mind.
Why do I think this? Well, to me our society and the world seems to be spinning out of control. Even Elon Musk has said that he believes the West is “sleepwalking our way into world war three,” and “putting civilization itself at stake.”
Consider the following examples:
Obviously, the attack on Israel by Hamas this month has sparked broader conflict in the middle east. The initial attack has escalated into a war that may involve other middle eastern countries.
The war in Ukraine has continued with no end in sight.
The world is on the verge of Space War as a Russian satellite shows 'sign of aggression' to US
Russia and China are working together. It is believed that China is providing material support to Russia in the Ukraine war and is assisting Iran with its proxy war on Israel.
It is believed that the U.S. could be pulled into a direct conflict with Iran, Russia and China.
There are worries that China could act against Taiwan. Given that the U.S. is distracted by the Ukraine and Israel wars, China may be able to just walk into Taiwan.
An Axios story stated: “Never before have we talked to so many top government officials who, in private, are so worried about so many overseas conflicts at once.”
The explosion of antisemitism in our universities and society is truly breathtaking.
In many ways the Hamas-Israel conflict is fomenting a resurgence of Marxism in the world. A tenet of Marxism is that there are the oppressed (Palestine in their world view) and oppressor (Israel). Regardless of the truth in this belief, it has become rampant.
It’s the advancement of Marxism that gets this at Michigan State University:
And this, projected onto the Estelle and Melvin Gelman Library at George Washington University. Estelle and Melvin were Jews. This is like pissing on their graves, but a lot more public.
In the U.S. our economy is imploding:
Credit card debt has increased to over $1 trillion, of 38% in the last 2 ½ years.
At the same time, credit card interest rates have increased with some as high as 40%.
Due to inflation the purchasing power of the U.S. dollar has decreased 18% in the last 2 ½ years.
Car Owners Fall Are Falling Behind on Payments at the Highest Rate on Record.
Credit card and car loan delinquencies pass pre-Covid levels as consumers get squeezed.
3,200 retail stores across the US are set to shut by the end of the year.
Cities in the U.S. are suffering. See last week’s article: What’s Happening to Our Cities?
Yeah, I know this is depressing. Would the end of times not be depressing?
So, what do we do?
Well, I could tell you to buy a gun and learn to shoot it. Learn to hunt and fish. Learn to prepare and cook your game. Buy gold. Start prepping. Buy a “bug out bag.” Learn to live off the grid.
Yeah, I could tell you all that. But what are the chances you’ll need to use any of those things or skills?
How about this. Tell the ones who are close to you that you love them. Tell them you care and that you’re all a team. Let them know!
Go to church if you’re affiliated with one. Pray for our leaders. Do something nice for a friend or neighbor. Donate time, goods or money to a charity.
You and I can’t change the world. It’s crazy to think we can. But we can make our lives, and our own little world a better place. And maybe get the crappy condition of the world out of our heads.

So Now I read the whole thing, probably better if I didn't, Hope you and the people to talked to are dead wrong, but I kind of had the same thoughts, only add a few with multi 911's hitting our biggest cities at the same time China hits and all the rest.
